Wishlist

A little list of things I love off of The Spoon Sisters. I can't wait to get things for my new place. Oh man, only a few more months!

Photobucket

I just made some cookies last night and this would have been so cute!

Photobucket

Babushka measuring cups! I've been wanting these for a while but they are sold out everywhere.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Muffin tops only please. =)

Photobucket

Now this is one of those why-didn't-I-think-of-that kind of inventions. Genius I tell you. Do you know how hard it is washing those champagne flutes or wine glasses!?

Photobucket

Just because it's cute.

Photobucket

DIY inspiration. I can make you one. Send me your old tank tops.

Please please please. I want these so bad. She said she got them at Zara, which means they aren't $700. I need a pair now!

Since I can't seem to follow the rules, here are several photos that I took. When I go to new places, I'm always looking up. This is what Hong Kong looks like.

Food Journal #26

Breakfast: Cup of frosted mini wheats with warm milk (It becomes like oatmeal. I still have that jaw pain) with banana slices.

Snack: Pieces of pumpkin scone from Starbucks. (death but I'm going to the gym later)

Lunch: Jook with preserved pork and pickled cucumber. The jaw is still hurting. A little bit of pasta from yesterday's lunch. Oh man it is too rich. I have an old lady's stomach now. I'm so sensitive.

Snack: Strawberry Activia Light with granola.

Dinner: Jook with preserved pork, fish balls, shrimp, and tofu.

Dessert: Piece of See's chocolate from my gift at work. Slice of red bean pancake. Noms.

Summer = Music Festivals

Just because Coachella is done, doesn't mean there aren't other music festivals out there. Refinery 29 has compiled a list of what to wear for this summer's music festivals, or just for the summer heat. Here are some of my favorites.

Photobucket

The easiest thing to wear in summer, a printed dress and a belt. Come on!

Photobucket

I don't know if I can pull this off, as my head and hats do not go well, but I bought one at Forever 21 and will challenge myself to wear it this summer.

Photobucket

Easy and fast DIY project. Plus added ventilation. But PLEASE wear your deodorant, do not add to the destruction of my fresh air please. Tanx.

Photobucket

Bandeaus! They are relatively cheap (I got both of mine for under $5) and easy to wear (if you are speedbump side of life, if you get my drift). If you have ample assets (and are blessed) this might be a little difficult for you. Sorry gals. If you are ballsy, wear them alone, or you can wear them under loose tanks and tops.

Photobucket

Girl, work that up do. Own it.
Photobucket

Bags. Definitely something you can carry easily. I recommend the cross strap so you can have your hands free to throw up in the air like you just don't care.

Food Journal # 25

Breakfast: A cup of frosted mini wheats with fat free milk and banana slices.

Snack: Raspberry Almond cookie. Piece of scone.

Lunch: Grilled chicken with mixed green salad and a little bit of bow-tie pasta with mushroom cream sauce (death); piece of garlic bread (death #2).

Snack: 1/2 of toffee cookie (death #3); 1/4 a marbled brownie; strawberry thumbprint cookie (it's staff appreciation week, my body is paying the price). Almond chocolate from See's.

Dinner: White Jook with preserved shredded pork and pickled cucumbers. All Chinese people eat this when they feel sick or can't really eat. My jaw was giving me so much pain due to my TMJ that I couldn't even chew. Unbearable.

Pre-Date Beauty Checklist

Here's a little Pre-Date Beauty Checklist that Beth Shapouri over at Glamour wrote for all you ladies out there prepping for a hotsie date.

1) Exfoliate. There’s nothing like smooth, soft skin to make a gal feel extra sexy.
2) Shave. Although you may choose to skip this step if it’s early in the dating process and you want to make sure you don’t let things get…you know…too far. Or skip it if you’d rather just rock your natural level of hairiness.
3) Moisturize from head to toe. You want to be soft everywhere.
4) Take care of any facial-hair situation you may have going. This includes grooming of the eyebrows and removal/bleaching of unwanted hair. It happens, but it’s not the kind of thing you want to think about while sipping a glass of pinot g with your crush.
5) Use a lip scrub. It’ll make your lips feel like butter. Key for smooching.
6) Apply makeup. Now, this one I’m keeping vague because the amount of makeup that makes you feel hot is totally a personal preference (but in case you’re lost, check out these 9 way pretty date makeup ideas). I will say that the one thing that’s an across-the-board must-have is mascara—a good non-clumpy mascara. Check out our readers’ favorites here for a few good suggests.
7) Apply your favorite scent. Smelling good is a huge part of upping your confidence, so make sure you’re wearing a perfume, lotion or body spray with a scent that makes you happy. (BTW if you’re curious, here are a few that put guys in the mood!) Oh, and let’s lump deodorant in this category too. Can’t forget that.
8) Floss. You can skip flossing and just brush your teeth or gargle with mouthwash. Or gum will do in a pinch. Basically you want to make sure you’ve got fresh breath. I also like to put on a whitening strip, but that’s really optional.

30 Things # 8

A photo that makes you sad:

I remember learning about this photograph, taken by Kevin Carter, in an art class in college. This photo, taken in Sudan, shows a vulture who is basically waiting for this child to die so that it can prey on its body. The fate of the child was not known and although Carter scared the vulture away, he came under criticism for not helping the girl. He was even called a vulture himself. Kevin Carter won the Pulitzer prize for this photo, but ultimately took his life three months later.

Food Journal #24

Yesterday

Breakfast: 2 pieces of veggie quiche. 1/4 of a pecan bun. Coffee.

Snack: 1 small banana sliced with a teaspoon of peanut butter (I'm trying to ween myself off of it).

Lunch: Leftover noodles with eel, beansprouts, and vegetarian duck.

Snack: Mango.

Happy Hour: Cosmo; Strawberry Margarita; Fried Green Beans; Quesdadilla; Nachos. All from TGIF where on Tuesday's, it's apparently Ladies' Night. Awesome.

Late night snack: Assorted baked goods from Sbux best worker, Jesh. Holler.

I declare this week, Fat Girl week because right now, I don't even give a shit what I'm putting in my stomach.

Spring!

Now that Spring is here and present, Omiru posted up what you should wear for April. I'm loving the bright pops of color and the cream blouses. And that romper is to die for.

What do you guys think? What are you loving for spring?

Well I'm off to Southern California to visit my boy. After 2 and a half months apart we finally get to see each other again. Ugh thank God! These past couple months have been really hard on my heart. Missing someone you love so much is the hardest kind of pain you can inflict on yourself. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough so that I can get some color. I look deathly pale.

Food Journal #23

Breakfast: 2 homemade mini veggie quiches. Milk tea.

Snack: Sugar Plums. Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters.

Lunch: Half a brie and tomatoe sandwich with whole wheat bread. Snow peas with ground turkey.

Snack: The other half of my sandwich.

Dinner: Pasta with marinara and mango sausage and veggies.

Dessert: A few cookies I made last night. I had to try them out. Haha. I'll post about them later. They are most interesting. They include chocolate and carrots. Yea. You'll see.

30 Things #7

A photo that makes you happy:

Photobucket

These girls. Our happiness. Our carefree spirit. Our youth. Our love for each other. Our enthusiasm for the next steps of life. All captured in one picture.

Photobucket

And since I can't seem to follow rules, this picture doesn't make me smile. It makes me laugh! I can just here Stella telling the guy he took a terrible picture. Haha.

Food Journal #22

Breakfast: 2 homemade veggie quiches. Green tea.

Snack: Handful of sugar plums. Not the candy, the fruit.

Lunch: Leftover barbecue chicken and beansprouts.

Snack: Carrot sticks and Laughing Cow Garlic and Herb cheese.

Dinner: Candy Cane & Unagi roll at Naru Sushi. Sake bombs. Man, I should have not eaten that Unagi roll. But I went to the gym so it wasn't too bad. What am I saying?! This is horrible.

Aubin & Wills

Discovery! So I found this British spin off of Jack Wills. Aubin & Wills is for the older Jack Wills shopper, which is predominately for University students. While it's true that they only have stores in the United Kingdom, they do ship internationally. Score!

Here is some outfits from their Spring 2010 lookbook.

They have really nice blazers and duffel coats. Although their items do remind me of like Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister, I'm going to look past that just a little and hope their European history adds some dimension to their products, and quality too.
