Tex Wasabi

Photobucket

My brother came home from college for Thanksgiving which coincides with his birthday (it usually does). So on the way back to school we decided to get lunch. He heard of this place called Tex Wasabi, which is owned by Guy Fieri from Food Network. He told me it was a mix of Texas barbeque and sushi, my favorites! So we had to try it out.

Up top is one of their Gringo rolls. Haha I know right. So it's called the Jackass. It's pulled pork, french fries, avocado, rolled in rice and wrapped with a rice noodle I think. It was not bad at all. I'm thinking the sauce on top is a chili mayonnaise.

Your standard Cali roll.

My brother's girlfriend is a vegetarian so she got this veggie filled roll. It looks really nice and pretty, like a garden.

Anddd on to the meat. So I originally wanted ribs but they weren't ready! What kind of barbeque place doesn't have ribs around the clock!? So as a substitute I got pulled pork, which I've never had but it was pretty damn good. Super soft and tender, plus the chicken, which my mom had. Their chicken was moist and delicious, none of that dry chicken you get at other places. It came with two sides. I got the seasoned fries (because my mom loves french fries) and the macaroni salad.

My dad got the beef brisket and half chicken with friends and baked beans.

My brother got he beef brisket and half chicken with rice (yea, I don't know why either) and seasoned fries.

This place is pretty interesting for sure but I came home with the absolute headache. I'm thinking it was MSG induced, which I really hope it wasn't because I would love to go back here. Definitely not everyday but maybe again. I saw their other sushi rolls and they seem pretty legit.
