Make some of these for added Spring time fun. Learn how here.

I'm off for a little hiatus and a much needed vacation before I go to law school. I'll have a few posts lined up but when they stop, don't miss me too much. =) I'll be back with new stuff and fun things.

A song that makes you cry (or nearly)

Because I know what it feels like to miss someone that badly.
And because seeing Trey Songz cry would make any woman cry.

30 Things #15

A fanfic? What is that? I'm going to change it to...

A food pic. PUHAHAHA! I'm clever.

I'm ready for bathing suits and ice cream. Summer in 6 days. Not that that means anything to me as I am stuck at a desk with artificial lighting. Oh poo. Being a grown up sucks.

A non-fictional book:

I'm so behind in this. So I'm going to double post for this.

30 Things #13

A fictional book:

I must have been in Junior High when I read this. But I remember it being a really good book for a girl that was just young, confused, naive, and dealing with growing up different.

Since I can't seem to follow the rules, here are several photos that I took. When I go to new places, I'm always looking up. This is what Hong Kong looks like.

30 Things # 8

A photo that makes you sad:

I remember learning about this photograph, taken by Kevin Carter, in an art class in college. This photo, taken in Sudan, shows a vulture who is basically waiting for this child to die so that it can prey on its body. The fate of the child was not known and although Carter scared the vulture away, he came under criticism for not helping the girl. He was even called a vulture himself. Kevin Carter won the Pulitzer prize for this photo, but ultimately took his life three months later.

A photo that makes you happy:

These girls. Our happiness. Our carefree spirit. Our youth. Our love for each other. Our enthusiasm for the next steps of life. All captured in one picture.

And since I can't seem to follow rules, this picture doesn't make me smile. It makes me laugh! I can just here Stella telling the guy he took a terrible picture. Haha.

Favorite Quote:

"I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today."
-William Allen White

I always go to bed hopeful of tomorrow. Sometimes I can have the shittiest day in the world, but I almost never feel that tomorrow will be worse. You can scream and cry your eyes out the night before, always go to bed thinking that tomorrow will be a better day. Tomorrow brings hope.

For someone like me who loves to plan, tomorrow is just one day closer to that next point in life. Tomorrow is one step closer to seeing my boyfriend. Tomorrow is one step closer to law school. Tomorrow is one step closer to owning a home, to traveling, to working, to enjoying what life has to offer. And tomorrow is another day to hold off doing whatever you are procrastinating. Right?

30 Things to Do #4

My favorite book. Hmm, this might be harder than I thought. There have been very few books where I feel like it's really changed me. For me, it was hard to have required reading in school. I always felt rushed and I could never really enjoy the book afterward. I mean no one can really enjoy a book after they wrote a 10 page paper late into the morning. So it's hard for me to say I have a favorite.

But the first book that popped into my head was The China Garden.

I was about 13 or 14 when I read this book. I honestly don't remember the story now but I remember reading it and not putting it down. Now, it may be because I was reading it while in Italy that makes me remember loving the book. It might be literary garbage and similar to how teenage girls love Twilight books, but I couldn't put it down, to the irritation of my parents who were trying to get me to see Florence. I saw Florence for sure, but every free second I got, I was reading this book. I have pictures of me reading this book.

Now, I'm curious as to see if it is any good. So maybe I'll crack it out.

Other Honorable Mentions:

Chinese Cinderella

Catcher in the Rye

Ok, peace out guys. I'm off to Vegas for a few days! It's my first time!

Day 3: My favorite television program

Now as sad as it is, or maybe not so sad, I don't get to watch a lot of television anymore. I don't really have the time and I don't really let it run my life like I used to. Trust me, I made my own weekly television schedule in college.

So now when I get the chance, I usually watch it online since I probably already missed it when it aired.

How I Met Your Mother is the go to show when I'm folding my laundry or cleaning my room.

If I'm at the gym (where there is cable) I will watch anything on Food Network, even if it is a re-run. Giada is my favorite because she says anything Italian with rolled R, her kitchen is impeccable, and she always wears those low cut tops to showcase her amazing cleavage. Yes, us girls notice these things too. Plus she seems so nice and cute and the food she makes always looks so delicious and do-able too.

See what I'm talking about?!

Day 2: Your Favorite Movie

Aww man. Movies are like music to me. There's a lot that I could watch over and over again. There's a lot that I watch to just feel. You know what I mean?

I remember there were times in high school or college where I get so focused on something that I become an emotionless robot. I still do that actually. Movies were a way for me to just crawl into my jammies and just feel something. Most of the time that would mean crying. Just a couple weeks ago, I was feeling like I needed to expel some emotion so I watch The Time Traveler's Wife. Now it's not my favorite movie but it did get some emotion out of me. So sometimes I use movies as a way to feel human again, as strange as that sounds.

But let's see, my favorite movie. Hmmm...I would need to categorize this.

Favorite movie from childhood. Hands down, Cinderella.

Favorite Musical? The Sound of Music tied with Grease

Favorite movie now? Un Homme et Une Femme

30 Things to Do #1

I'm copying Geoff. I dont' know where he got this list of to-dos. But I'm going to try to attempt them because I find my blog boring now. Sorry blog but I gotta be honest. Without reading other people's blogs, I find that I don't have much to actually right about. So here we can learn a little bit about me. I don't mean to be selfish but it is my blog after all.

So here goes...

Day 1: Your Favorite Song

This is tough. I love music. Almost every song I love has a specific meaning to my life. They are like markers in the road of my journey of life. Wow, that sounded super lame. Haha, but it's true!

But if I had to post one, it might as well be Beach Boy's Kokomo. This song reminds me of my Dad, who used to play the LP for me when I was a kid just so I could wear my pink "swingy" dress and dance. My dancing involved just twisting my body so that my little ruffled dress could swing around. That's still how I dance. Haha just kidding.

I still listen to this song and it makes me just feel a little calmer and it does make me want to go to drink some tropical drink and lie on the beach. *sighhhh. If only...
